On August 24, the Calcutta High Court ordered the CBI to investigate Ghosh, leading to an FIR against him. The court has given the CBI three weeks to report on the investigation, with a progress report due on September 17. Despite his imprisonment, Atalay was elected to parliament last year to represent Workers' Party of Turkey, known as TIP.
