Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on March 12 said that the implementation of CAA is morally and constitutionally wrong and that he is in favour of Congress and INDI Alliance to take the implementation of CAA in the Supreme Court and raise objections against it. A big diplomatic win for India; 8 of the former Navy officials were freed by Qatar on February 12. Former Navy men were accused of allegedly spying on a submarine programme and were sentenced to Qatar Death penalty. Meanwhile, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor congratulated those who worked behind the scenes for their release. Seven of the total eight former Indian Navy personnel returned home from Qatar on February 12. The capital punishment was later commuted to an extended prison term following diplomatic intervention by MEA. A day after TMC MP Mahua Moitra appeared before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee over cash-for-query cash, the committee chairman and members revealed on November 3 what happened during the hearing. Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Monday slammed the circulation of photographs showing him with Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, saying that it was “an act of cheap politics”. The Thiruvananthapuram MP said that the photographs were taken during Moitra's birthday party, which was attended by around 15 persons, including his sister.
