Pune: Pune police uses road roller to destroy 1768 illegal silencers in the city

In a major crackdown, 1768 modified silencers were seized and destroyed using a road roller by the Pune police. The action was taken after multiple complaints were received about deafening bike noise disrupting residential areas. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had ordered action against such modified silencers. “A dedicated campaign was initiated to regulate silencers, and moving forward, action will also be taken against garage owners selling or installing such silencers. We direct vehicle owners to follow proper traffic rules and regulations,” an official stated.

It is possible that there is a gang behind this...Locals say that buses remain parked there and incident happen on those buses everyday. This incident has come to light, several others might not have. Govt must dismantle this entire gang. We demand Devendra Fadnavis to hang the guilty and also have an investigation...Law & order of entire Maharashtra is collapsing..." Congress National Spokesperson Atul Londhe Patil saidd, "Such incidents, happening again and again, reveal the failure of government. Pune bus assault: 26 year old woman sexually assaulted inside a bus

A 26-year-old woman was sexually assaulted early Tuesday morning i.e on 25th of February inside a bus parked at the Swargate Bus Stand in Pune, just 100 meters from a police station. The assault occurred between 5:45 AM and 6:30 AM. The suspect, identified as Dattatraya Ramdas Gade, was captured on CCTV footage, but he remains on the run. Pune City Police have formed 13 teams to locate and arrest him. Eight teams from the Crime Branch and five from Swargate Police Station are working to track down the accused. Some teams have also been sent outside the district to assist in the search. The police took immediate action, filing a complaint and securing the CCTV footage, which helped to kickstart the investigation. Authorities are also looking into how the bus depot management allowed such an incident to take place within their premises. In response to the attack, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Vasant More, along with other party members, organized a protest at the Swargate Bus Stand, demanding justice for the victim.

Mumbai Block: 63 Hour Mega Block Affects Mumbai Locals, 930 Trains Cancelled

 Central Railway  announced a 63-hour mega block starting midnight on May 30, impacting 930 local train services. This block aims to extend platforms at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and widen platforms at Thane station. Operations will resume by 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, 1st June. With over 1,800 local train services daily, serving over 30 lakh passengers across four corridors, disruptions and overcrowding are expected. Thane's overcrowded platforms 5 and 6 will be widened by 2-3 meters. During the block, 444 suburban services will be shortened and 446 services will originate from other stations. Mr. Ram Karan Yadav, the general manager of Central Railway said that Mega block is being carried to extend the length of CST. Apart from the local train services, long-distance trains are also expected to be affected during the block period. The railways have appealed to commuters to avoid travelling by local trains, unless necessary. However, daily commuters faced overcrowding and difficulties navigating through the crowds during the Mumbai block on 30th of May.
