08 December,2022 10:18 PM IST | MumbaiThe counting of votes for the five state Assemblies of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, and Manipur began today at 8 am. The exit polls have predicted that BJP will be elected in UP but with reduced seats. AAP is set to win Punjab and the saffron party will retain Uttarakhand. Some exit polls predicted a hung-assembly in Goa. The polls for 117 constituencies were held on February 20 and a total 1,54,69,618 voters exercised their right to franchise.

In Tamil Nadu, the DMK, led by its President M.K. Stalin, is leading in 121 of the state's 234 Assembly constituencies and if the trend continues, then it can form the government on its own. The party-led front is leading in 143 Assembly constituencies (Congress 15, CPI and CPI-M two each, VCK three) for which the polls were held on April 6.
