07 January,2025 06:41 PM ISTOn January 6, ICMR identified two cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, during routine checks. The patients, a 3-month-old girl and an 8-month-old boy, were admitted to Baptist Hospital. Despite these HMPV cases, there has been no significant rise in flu-like illnesses or Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) in India. This comes after reports of an HMPV outbreak in China, where the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration is testing a system to monitor pneumonia cases of unknown cause. HMPV is already circulating worldwide, including in India, with cases of respiratory illnesses linked to the virus reported in many countries.
06 January,2025 02:53 PM ISTBengaluru's City Civil Court has granted bail to Nikita Singhania, her mother-in-law Nisha Singhania, and her brother-in-law Anurag Singhania in the Atul Subhash suicide case. Despite strong objections from the family of the deceased, the court decided to grant bail. Atul's brother, Vikas Modi, told ANI that they plan to challenge the court's decision in the High Court and, if needed, the Supreme Court. Atul mentioned that they had raised 15 strong objections against the bail, including the fact that the investigation is still ongoing. He stated that if they do not receive any relief from the High Court, they will take the matter to the Supreme Court.
05 January,2025 12:40 PM ISTOn December 21, a team from the Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal Police arrested a Pakistan-trained militant named Javed Munshi. He is a known expert in making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and handling weapons. Munshi is linked to the banned terrorist group Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM). The arrest took place near the India-Bangladesh border, in the Canning area of South 24 Parganas. This operation was carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Kolkata Police together, based on secret information. Javed Munshi will be presented before the Alipore court soon.

Pawan Kumar Modi, the father of deceased Atul Subhash, expressed his deep concern over the disappearance of his grandson after the arrest of Nikita Singhania, Nisha Singhania, and Anurag Singhania. He said, "We have no idea where my grandson is, whether he's alive or dead. I just want him to come back to us. I thank the police for arresting the accused. However, I still haven't received justice as a case has been filed against me, including a new one involving my grandson. I appeal to PM Modi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and other leaders to help bring my grandson home. For me, my grandson means more than my son, and the whole community supports me in this."
15 December,2024 01:12 PM ISTIn an emotional appeal, brother of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash voiced out his concerns about the lack of legal protection for men facing harassment and said despite the gravity of the suicide incident, no arrests have been made in the case so far, and the family is committed to pursuing legal action. He said, "I filed an FIR against some people on the 9th. Those people have fled their homes. A few days ago, there was a video where they said they wouldn't speak to the media. If this isn't a system failure, then what is it? My brother's last wish was that if he gets justice, his ashes should be immersed in the Ganga, but if he doesn't get justice, they should be thrown into the gutter in front of the court. If even the judges sitting in court are involved in corruption, then one should give up hope for justice."

He spoke with great sadness, saying that if Atul had been a girl instead of a boy, things might have turned out differently. Atul Subhash, died by suicide on 9th of December. He was living in Bengaluru but was originally from Uttar Pradesh. Before his death, Atul left behind a 24-page suicide note. In the note, he accused his wife, her family, and a judge of causing his distress. He claimed they were responsible for "explicit instigation for suicide, harassment, extortion, and corruption. Atul, who was originally from Uttar Pradesh, had been living in Bengaluru. Before his death, he left behind a 24-page suicide note in which he accused his wife, her family, and a judge of causing him distress. In the note, Atul claimed that they were responsible for explicit instigation for suicide, harassment, extortion, and corruption. Atul's death has left his family in deep grief, with his relatives calling for justice. Dinesh Mishra, the lawyer representing Atul, expressed regret over the tragic incident and said that Atul should have reached out to them about his problems. Meanwhile, the Whitefield Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Dr. Shivakumar Gunare revealed the exact cause of the incident and confirmed that an FIR has been registered in the case following a complaint filed by Atul's brother. The Bengaluru suicide case has shoot the entire nation. The investigation will also look into several cases filed against the accused in Uttar Pradesh, with a team set to travel there for further inquiries.
