The Maharashtra government has announced a complete toll waiver for light motor vehicles at all five toll booths in Mumbai. The toll waiver will take effect from midnight on Monday, providing relief to motorists as they enter the city. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde made the announcement during a Cabinet meeting, describing the move as a "masterstroke" ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls. The toll waiver is expected to provide significant relief to commuters traveling in and out of Mumbai, particularly with Diwali approaching. Travelers have often complained about long waiting times at these toll booths, which include Dahisar, LBS Road-Mulund, Eastern Express Highway-Mulund, Airoli Creek Bridge, and Vashi. Light motor vehicles, such as cars, jeeps, vans, auto-rickshaws, taxis, delivery vans, and small trucks, make up about 80% of the more than six lakh vehicles that cross Mumbai daily. This initiative aims to save time, reduce fuel consumption, and lower pollution levels in the city.

The workers have been shifted from Chinyalisaur Hospital to AIIMS Rishikesh for further treatment carrying 41 rescued workers, IAF's transport aircraft Chinook reached AIIMS Rishikesh. Workers will be kept under the supervision of expert doctors for a final checkup at AIIMS. 41 stranded workers were rescued from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi on November 28. After Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue, workers were shifted to the Community Health Centre in Chinyalisaur for primary treatment. Workers were trapped inside Uttarakhand's Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi since November 12.

He also spoke about the growth in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of India which was recorded at 7.2 per cent in 2022-2023. Earlier, it was estimated to be 7 per cent. He also said that by taking all the factors into consideration, the real GDP growth for the year 2023-24 is projected at 6.5 per cent. “India’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) recorded a growth of 7.2 per cent in 2022-23, stronger than the earlier estimate of 7 per cent. It has surpassed its pre-pandemic level by 10.1 per cent...Taking all factors into consideration, the real GDP growth for the year 2023-24 is projected at 6.5 per cent,” said Shaktikanta Das.
