PM Modi's Mauritius visit: Modi Ji receives a warm welcome from Indian diaspora

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Mauritius on the morning of 11th February to a grand and enthusiastic welcome. Upon landing, he was received by the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navin Ramgoolam, along with several high-ranking officials. The welcoming group included the Deputy Prime Minister, Chief Justice of Mauritius, Speaker of the National Assembly, Leader of the Opposition, Foreign Minister, Cabinet Secretary, and Chairperson of the Grand Port District Council. The atmosphere  was filled with excitement as the crowd waved Indian flags, showing their pride and admiration for the Indian leader. Members of the Indian diaspora in Mauritius, who share strong cultural and historical ties with India, gathered in large numbers to greet PM Modi with warmth and enthusiasm. Prime Minister Modi arrived in Mauritius late Monday night for a two-day state visit. On March 12, he is scheduled to attend the National Day celebrations as the chief guest. His visit highlights the close relationship between India and Mauritius and is expected to further strengthen the ties between the two nations.

Ajit Pawar tables Rs 7.20 Lakh crore budget for Maharashtra - WATCH

TMC leaders walk out of Rajya Sabha over blocked discussion on fake voter IDs

Four labourers suffocate to death while cleaning water tank in Mumbai's Byculla

In a tragic incident on Sunday, four labourers lost their lives while cleaning a water tank in an under-construction building in Nagpada, Byculla. The incident took place at Bismillah Space, located on Dimtimkar Road, around 12:30 pm. The workers, identified as Hasibul Shaikh, 19; Raja Shaikh, 20; Jiyaul Shaikh, 36; and Imandar Shaikh, 38, suffocated while working inside the tank. A fifth worker, Butan Shaikh, 31, who arrived at the site after the four men, managed to survive. Other workers at the site immediately alerted the fire brigade, and the victims were rushed to the state-run JJ Hospital. Sadly, doctors declared all four of them dead upon arrival. The families of the deceased have raised serious concerns, alleging that the workers were not provided with necessary safety equipment during the dangerous task. The JJ Marg police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in connection with the incident, and investigations are underway.
