BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has called for gender-neutral laws to protect both partners in a marriage amid the ongoing debate over the suicide of Bengaluru-based techie Atul Subhash. Speaking to ANI, Surya emphasized the importance of the family as the core of society. He suggested that it’s time to review family-related laws and, where possible, make them more gender-neutral to ensure both partners are equally protected. Surya expressed concern that laws could be misused by one partner, which could harm the family unit and lead to serious social problems. He stressed that protecting the family institution is essential for the well-being of society.
