Rohini Acharya, the daughter of Lalu Prasad and an RJD candidate, submitted her nomination for the Saran Lok Sabha constituency in Chapra district, Bihar. Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, and Misa Bharti were present during the nomination process, along with a large crowd of supporters.

Following the nomination, a rally will take place at Rajendra Stadium in Chapra, attended by Tejashwi Yadav, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani, and RJD national general secretary Abdul Bari Siddiqui, reported IANS.

Rohini Acharya is contesting against senior BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who has won the Lok Sabha seat in 2014 and 2019. Rudy criticized Lalu Prasad, alleging that Rohini Acharya is just a front, and Lalu Prasad Yadav is the real candidate of Saran.

Meanwhile, former Bihar Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, during a public meeting campaigning for party candidate from Saran Rohini Acharya, he said, "Rohini Acharya is contesting from here. I am sure that my sister will do better in Saran which happens to be the 'Karmabhoomi' of my father Lalu Yadav. The way she gave 'Jeevandaan' to her father, she will be working for the people in the same manner. We want your blessings. My father worked a lot for Saran."

According to other agency reports, Rohini Acharya said, "I will serve you the way I served my parents."
