Here are some great gadget gifting ideas for that special someone

While there is nothing like a nice romantic candlelit dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day, you may not always find this possible because either Mutalik or moneyu00a0 (rather, the lack of it) may play spoilsport. But worry not. We have come up with a list that will make you want to fall in love all over again.

You light up my life, baby: We have all seen heart symbols, but this USB device is really cute. The plasma heart works like your average plasma ball and the blue rays will instantly react to your touch by moving to come in contact with the tips of your fingers.u00a0 The heart itself is made of glass and is small enough that it'd be great for you desktop and won't get in the way or hog space. (usb.brando .com.hk/prod_detail.php? prod_id=00788; $17; Rs 825)

If you can't shake it, Shakespeare it: There are several Valentine's themed apps in the App Store. Our favourite is the Shakespeare one from Readdle. It is completely free, and you will always have a nice quote in your hands. Better have this, or you will have to quote Kipling 'But the fool he called her his lady fair.'

For a cause: Sure, you two feel good about being together, but remember there is a world out there. So, why not buy something for your significant other and also do something nice? Buy these notebooks from Dell and for every purchase of a Promise Pink laptop or Mini, Dell will donate $5.00 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a global leader of the breast cancer movement which has invested more than $1.3 billion since inception in 1982. So, get pink and feel doubly good! (dell.com; prices vary)

Crystal gazer: Who says that only diamonds are a girl's best friend? I mean, crystals will do fine too, won't they? Especially if they are from Swarovski. These Bose headphones from Hohenthaner feature headphones that have a thousand crystals each and each are embedded by hand. (chipchick.com/2009/02/bose.html; $409; Rs 19,871)

On Mutalik's wish list?
Going by his track record, we suspect that the Rama Sene chief may want a laser beam that is shaped like the third eye of Shiva. It may be controlled by a wireless Bluetooth device that is not shown in the picture. When Mutalik sees lovers on Valentine's Day, all he has to do is press the button and the laser eye will reduce the lovers to cinders the way Kamadeva was burnt!

Ain't you glad there isn't any such device?!
