On Thursday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Mumbai was reported to be in the 'moderate' category, as per the SAMEER app, which showcases the AQI mapped by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).


The minimum temperature in Mumbai on Thursday is likely to be at 26 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 35 degrees Celsius.


Mumbai's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 158, in the 'moderate' category, around 10 am. Further Navi Mumbai and Thane too reported 'moderate' air quality with AQI at 181 and 141 respectively.


The data further revealed that of the total 22 stations in Mumbai, area that reported 'very poor' air quality included Andheri's Chakala with AQI at 393.

Besides this, Mazgaon reported 'poor' air quality with AQI at 209, on October 19. Further, the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) revealed that the Borivali and Malad's mindspace areas in Mumbai is the least polluted with AQI at 93 and 90 respectively.

The data further reveals that the most prominent pollutant in Mumbai is PM10 and O3. While the most prominent pollutant in Thane is PM10.

The most prominent pollutant in Navi Mumbai is PM 2.5. In Navi Mumbai areas with 'very poor' category air quality includes Nerul and Kalamboli with AQI at 253 and 224 respectively.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
