The Dongri police, who are investigating the scam which involved sending medical students to Spain under the pretext of providing admission in Spain-based medical institutions without any entrance examinations, have arrested Archana Gautam but are yet to arrest her associates and the alleged kingpin of the racket.

The matter came to light when a 28-year-old postgraduate student had approached the police to register an FIR against three people of a company called “The Internationally”. The police then arrested Gautam, 29, on June 1.

“During the investigation, she revealed that she’s not the only one involved in the crime and three family members also worked with her. She also stated that the money which they allegedly earned was sent to a Sasmita Nanda. We suspect that Nanda is the kingpin,” said the police.  The police then also said that Nanda has a bank account in Poland and the money was transferred there. The police are in search of Nanda, and three others.
