Nagpur's Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, has refuted reports of a scuffle between Police and Bharatiya Janata Party workers outside the official residence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He emphasized that no criminal offense has occurred.

Kumar explained that the situation was being blown out of proportion, and there was no event that could be classified as a criminal offense or a non-cognizable crime at Devendra Fadnavis's residence. There was a dispute as BJP workers gathered to enter the deputy CM's residence, but senior police officers swiftly intervened, effectively resolving the situation. The Commissioner of Police insisted that the incident was not as serious as it was portrayed in certain sections of the media.

Speaking to ANI, Kumar said, "An attempt is being made to exaggerate the incident in Devgiri (the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis). I want to make it clear that no such incident, which could be deemed a criminal offense or an NC (non-cognizable crime), took place in Devgiri. There was some dispute as BJP workers queued up to enter the deputy CM's residence. However, our senior officers intervened on time and the situation was brought under control. The incident was not as it is being made out to be in some sections of the media," the commissioner of police, Nagpur, added.

A video circulating on social media appeared to depict a scuffle between BJP members and police personnel at the entrance to Fadnavis's official residence.

According to the police, the Deputy Chief Minister was present in Nagpur on the day of the incident, and a group of BJP members arrived to meet him at his official residence. Reports suggest that a scuffle broke out as BJP members attempted to enter the bungalow, and the police intervened to maintain order. Some reports claimed that BJP workers got physical with police officers, but the police have rejected these allegations.
