Covid-19: At 1,185 days, doubling rate deteriorates in Mumbai

Mumbai recorded 365 new cases and four deaths on Saturday, after witnessing over 400-plus cases in the last few days. The TPR currently stands at 1.006 per cent.


Of the four reported deaths, three deceased had comorbidities. While one person was below the age of 40, another two were above 60, and another in the age group of 40-60. Meanwhile, the city’s doubling rate continued to deteriorate and was at 1,185 days on Saturday. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 232 people recovered and were discharged.


The MMR also recorded a dip in the number of cases on Saturday as compared to Friday.  As per the state report, 710 cases were reported in the MMR region, including cases from Mumbai.  Apart from Mumbai, Thane recorded 57 cases, which was the second highest in MMR on Saturday.


The state’s Covid-19 cases saw a marginal drop on Saturday. As per the state health department report, 3,075 cases were reported. The state, however, saw a marginal increase in the number of deaths, with 35 deaths being reported. The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent, as 3,056 people recovered and got discharged.
