On Saturday, the Matunga police arrested a robber who adopted a unique modus operandi to rob aspiring models, mainly at Dadar.

DR Karale, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Zone 4, said that 37-year-old Pradip Jaidev Ghosh procured contact numbers of victims from the local search engine, Justdial. He introduced himself as an agent and asked the models (men and women) to come to Dadar for photo sessions.

There, he offered them cold drinks laced with sedatives. After the victims lost consciousness, Ghosh robbed them of their valuables and fled.

“We have seized three cameras, two laptops and other valuables worth Rs 3,70,000 from Ghosh,” said Raghvendra Thakur, senior inspector, Matunga police station.u00a0
