The police decided to raid Chez Moi pub at Oshiwara on Friday night after they got a tip off that a drug deal was supposed to take place at the venue. A police team headed by Assistant Police Inspector Ravindra Patil raided the pub around 1.15 am.
They found girls and boys indulging in obscene activities and also nabbed some boys consuming cigarette mixed with charas. They seized a bottle of a liquid called speed that resembled acid. The liquid has been sent to a laboratory for further examination.
The police also arrested 32 persons, including three men working in an American consulate. The four girls were identified as a doctor, a daughter of a Navy officer and two college-going students. The police released 29 people after penalising them. However, they arrested three boys and recovered charas from them.
The party’s organiser had not taken requisite permission for the party while the pub’s owner didn’t have any license. Seven months ago, he had filed a complaint with the Oshiwara police that his license had been stolen. “The pub had no necessary permission or license. We have arrested three boys with charas. The matter is under investigation,” said Ravindra Patil.
