A 35-year-old man was arrested by the Kasa Police in Palghar after he allegedly killed his wife following a quarrel, the police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, the incident took place at Awdhani Paras Pada under the jurisdiction of Kasa police station on Monday. The accused identified as Shivkumar Sahni had fled away after the crime but was nabbed within 24 hours of the murder.

The police said, the deceased identified as Sangeeta Sahni (42) was brutally killed by her husband Shivkumar after he smashed her head on the floor. The investigations revealed that Sangeeta’s first husband Prakash Karbat had passed away many years ago and she had two children from her first husband. She had been married with Shivkumar and had been living with him for past 12 years. But, there were frequent arguments between the two over some domestic disputes.
