Watson says England missed Jason Roy and Tymal Mills in the finals

Anis Sajan

Shane Watson's prediction was spot on that New Zealand will beat in a thriller at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium. He felt the loss of Jason Roy was a big blow for England which unsettled the England firepower, and the loss of Tymal Innings was a big loss as he was a specialist in the death overs.

He felt the wicket was two-paced, and Bairstow and Buttler cud not hit through the line and did not help England cause, and they could not get off to a flying start, and England found it difficult to get going. He believed Moeen Ali should have come to bat at number three as he would have given the impetuous, he goes hard from ball one, and his intentions would have changed the New Zealand bowling plans whereas David Malan is good but not as destructive as Moeen Ali.

In a zoom interaction with Mr. Anis Sajan, a.k.a Mr. Cricket UAE, He expressed that ‘England just could not play the Gungo style because of the two-paced wicket and of course they missed Jason Roy big time as they could not get off to a flier which restricted them to just 160. But at the break, England will win once they lost Guptill and Williamson got out, but New Zealand had enough firepower, specially Neesham, who changed the game in the 17th over when 23 runs were scored of Jordan and that close catch where Jonny Bairstow  knee touched the rope after taking the catch  was the beauty of this game as to how great the leveler this game is as in 2019 world cup finals Trent Boult had caught Ben Stokes, but it was called six which was turning point and justice was done to New Zealand.’

He believed in Daryl Michelle kept his nerve till the end, and Neesham’s knock rubbed on him, and he could take the Kiwis home to yet another final.
