There is a rise in the number of social media influencers due to an increase in social media users in the country. Everyone follows an influencer who creates the content of their interest. A social media milestone is when the channel or the page crosses certain amount of followers/subscribers, views or likes. Social media milestones are often celebrated by influencers to thank their audience for subscribing to their content. We often come across celebratory posts, videos, or giveaways as a part of it. However, Pixoury has always celebrated its milestones in a special way. Since the Page went viral on Instagram, the celebrations of social media milestones are done by sharing essential commodities with the less privileged. Celebration is a private matter and everyone is free to choose the way they want to do it. However, if the celebrations are done in a way which could help the people in need, we could create an ideal society.

For the first 200k followers, Pixoury distributed 200 free meals to homeless people across the city. Milestone of 300k was celebrated by donating essentials to a local orphanage. In the second wave of the pandemic, the page crossed the 400k mark and the celebration was done by donating funds to Zomato’s Feeding India Initiative, which helped in procuring oxygen cylinders. On the 3rd of November the page crossed the milestone of 500k followers. The page celebrated it by donating blankets to the homeless.

“Celebrating social media milestones with a noble cause should be the new trend. Everything is magnified on social media and this illusion makes others want to do the same to gain attention and engagement. Thus, if this trend goes viral, it will help so many people in need. Whatever might be the intention behind it, it will only help the less privileged. I usually spend a significant portion of my earnings from Instagram promotions to celebrate this milestones. It not only helps the people in need but it also gives my followers a purpose to follow my page.” Says Hrishiraj, the digital creator behind Pixoury. You can find the page of Pixoury on Instagram, Josh and Moj. There is also a YouTube channel of Pixoury on which they have uploaded a complete tutorial for everyone who want to create similar content that of theirs.

Even if the intention of an influencer is to gain more followers by promoting a cause. Ultimately, the people who get the help are benefitted. And, if this becomes the new cool. We might see many influencers or social media users do the same, creating a larger impact on the society.

The basic idea behind any celebration is to share happiness and success with others. They are also planned to generate positivity for future success, and the more we share it with the people who need it the most, the more we evolve as a society. Let’s hope that this trend goes viral and we see more of such celebrations on social media.
