Bright prospects for event industry in the coming future: Dr. Hoshi Bhiwandiwalla, Dean of NIEM

NIEM institute

Due to the pandemic all sectors are suffering and working on lowkey, so there is an anxiety about the event industry amongst the students who have a passion for events and would like to enter this spectacular industry. When asked about it Dr. Hoshi Bhiwandiwalla the dean of NIEM – Asia’s first and best event institute was very positive about the future of events and event learning. He clarified that already quite a lot of events are taking place and they have been able to give a lot of events to their students. Now as vaccination is happening and cities like Mumbai,  Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore are reporting lower cases and slowly opening up, the scale of events will definitely increase, also by December a huge number of Indians will get vaccinated so things will open up and Dr. Hoshi feels that events will increase from December onwards and the upswing will continue, more and more event companies will start events which will give an immense fillip to event industry.

Dr. Bhiwandiwalla is confident that the pent up demand will push up a huge number of events from January 2022, as in the last two years a lot of events which usually take place did not happen or happened with on a very lowkey, now with the opening up, all these events will come back with a vengeance and we can safely assume that 2022 will see a huge spurt in events. This will be a boon for the aspiring event student as a lot of live events will happen and even the placement offers will increase. NIEM’s experience even in the last academic year was better, inspite of the pandemic as along with online teaching had a lot of workshops, huge inhouse events at National level when halls were allowed with 50% capacity and due to NIEM’s excellent contacts with the event industry NIEM’s students worked on a lot of events, weddings and reality shows, so event training will be huge for the current batch. NIEM also plans to adopt hybrid teaching which includes a little of online and subject to government approvals a lot of offline teaching along with the usual value oriented workshop, the attractive national level inhouse activities and the huge NIEM training on live events which includes famous film awards, other awards shows, top reality shows, weddings, destination weddings, concerts, sporting events, brand launches, etc. With the opening of event industry, NIEM is positive of placing its passionate and trained event students, including encouraging NIEM students to start new event companies.

Don’t worry says Dr. Bhiwandiwalla, now better times are due for the great Indian event and entertainment industry, now is the best time to enter events and take advantage of pent up demand for events and which better institute than NIEM to learn the intricacies of events from the leaders of event educations.
