Order! Order! Order! It’s back to the courtroom for Akshay Oberoi as he kickstarts the third edition of Illegal, a year and a-half after the second instalment streamed on Voot Select. The third season is said to revolve around Oberoi’s rift with his onscreen father, Janardhan Jaitley, played by Piyush Mishra, who is keen to consolidate his position in politics while maintaining his influence in legal circles. On the other hand, Oberoi’s character advocate Akshay Jaitley’s changing dynamics with ex-girlfriend Niharika Singh (Neha Sharma) will also be the focus of the show.

A source informs, “Akshay is stuck between seeking revenge from Niharika and trying to mend his relationship with her. At the same time, he is also looking to salvage his position in the legal firm as his equation with his father sours when he promotes someone else instead of him.” The team is currently in Delhi for a month-long schedule, after which they will return to Mumbai for a long spell.

Thrilled to take the narrative of the Sahir Raza-directed series ahead, Oberoi says, “The opportunity to delve deeper into the complexities of the legal world and explore new dimensions of the character is incredibly fulfilling as an actor. I am looking forward to collaborating with the talented cast and crew for the next chapter.”
