Pankhuri Awasthy, last seen in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has just joined the team of SAB Tv’s ‘Maddam Sir.’ The actress plays an artificial intelligence officer in the show. Speaking to mid-day.com, Pankhuri says, “Though I hadn’t followed all the episodes of the show, I had heard about it and I liked what I heard. So when I was approached for it, I was excited because the role is something very different from what you usually see on TV. I play an artificial intelligence officer and get to perform stunts, which is something I’m looking forward to. Even my look is very different from characters I’ve played before and I’m happy with it.”

Her last show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has also undergone a lot of changes with the new cast coming in. “I haven’t been following the show as such but I’m in touch with the team,” says the actress.

Does husband Gautam Rode give his inputs on her shows and characters? “Yes we do discuss work and share our thoughts about every character, which is a good thing,” she says with a smile.
