The duo "are well in synch and have more than found their rhythm", Deadline reported. Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns are likely to turn in a script before the end of the summer.
The 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' actor will helm his scripted adaptation of Dennis Lehane's book 'Live by Night' in November.
The 'Batman' solo movie will begin filming after Affleck completed his work in 'Live by Night'. The plot of the standalone DC superhero film would reflect Batman's character emerging after 'Batman v Superman' (2016) and 'Justice League' (2017).
It's still unclear when the remake of the Caped Crusader film will be slotted as DC and Warner Bros have already set a long list of superhero movies for the next few years.
