Anne Hathaway, who was seen as the White Queen alongside Depp in Alice in Wonderland talks about his portrayal of The Mad Hatter as they gear up to return to the big screen with their much awaited sequel, Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass which releases soon.
She says, “Johnny did such a fun thing with his character in the first film — so entertaining and surprising; which is key because you have to care about the Hatter and really believe that his madness adds such a wonderful sense of fun and colour to this world. The tone he has set becomes important to the second film working because when you see him not being himself – it’s heartbreaking. It is because the character created by Johnny is so lovable, it has a higher resonance with the audience.”
