Varun Dhawan, has been riding high on success and critical acclaim for his latest role as Ajju Bhaiya in the recently premiered romantic entertainer Bawaal. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film has garnered immense popularity among both audiences and critics, establishing Varun as a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Now, fueled by the overwhelming response and appreciation, Varun is all set to embark on his next cinematic journey, promising to deliver yet another entertainment extravaganza filled with love, laughter, and thrilling action.


According to reports, Varun Dhawan is all set to kick off his next action entertainer, dubbed as "#VD18," in the second week of August. As per a source close to the project, the shooting timelines have been finalized, and the team will start with a 15-day schedule in a Mumbai studio. Joining Varun in this venture is the talented South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh, who is making her much-awaited Bollywood debut with this film. The duo is expected to shoot some romantic and dramatic sequences together during this schedule. Following this, the film will move on to an action-packed schedule, showcasing Varun performing some stylish and larger-than-life action sequences.


The yet-untitled film will feature Varun Dhawan in the role of a police officer, while Keerthy Suresh is reportedly playing his love interest. The movie promises to be a dramatic entertainer that will captivate audiences with its gripping storyline, powerful performances, and high-octane action sequences. The film marks the Bollywood directorial debut of the renowned Tamil filmmaker Atlee Kumar, who has previously delivered several successful films down South. Atlee is also currently working on Shah Rukh Khan's highly anticipated movie Jawan. The project is being presented by Atlee Kumar himself, while his wife Priya Atlee will produce it in association with Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios. The director Kalees, who is helming the film, has already completed his preparations and is eagerly awaiting the commencement of shooting in mid-August.


Apart from #VD18, Varun Dhawan has some exciting projects lined up for his fans. He is set to star in the Indian installment of the Russo Brothers' global spy thriller series, Citadel, alongside the talented actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The espionage thriller, directed by the renowned duo Raj and DK, is currently in the post-production phase and is scheduled for a mid-2024 premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, Varun has Bhediya 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, in his pipeline. Although still in the writing stage, the film is expected to begin filming sometime in mid-next year. Furthermore, Varun will reprise his werewolf character from Bhediya in a cameo role in Stree 2, adding to the excitement of his fans.
