Ameesha Patel is all set to reprise her iconic role as Sakeena in the much-awaited Gadar 2. At the trailer launch event, Ameesha candidly spoke about how she faced doubts when she was offered the role in the first installment of the film. Even after two decades, she revealed that people still questioned her ability to portray the role of a mother in the sequel. The trailer for Gadar 2 was unveiled on the momentous occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas, with Sunny Deol and Ameesha gracing the event. The trailer showcases intense moments as Tara (Sunny Deol) and Sakina's son Jeete (played by Utkarsh Sharma) gets captured and tortured by a Pakistani army general. Tara vows to bring his son back and travels to Lahore, unleashing his fury on Pakistani soldiers.

Addressing the skepticism she faced, Ameesha shared her experiences at the trailer launch. She revealed that many insiders in the industry had doubts about her suitability for the role when she was offered the first Gadar film. However, she viewed the doubts as challenges and didn't let them deter her. At the trailer launch event, Ameesha Patel shared her experiences and said, "Anil Ji ne jab mujhe pehli Gadar ki kahani sunayi thi tab bahut se logo ne, bahut jaani maani hastiyon ne, bade logo ne kaha ki mai ye film kaise karungi... ab sabne kaha ki aap toh Maa ka role kar hi nahi paoge. Mujhe challenges bahut acche lagte hain. So, instead of getting dejected, I took it as a challenge. Logo ne Gadar ke ane ke pehle, Gadar ko gutter kaha tha. Aur ab Gadar 2 ki baat ayi tab bhi wahi sawaal uthe ki ‘Dude have you seen yourself on Instagram?’ Lazy Lamhe ki ladki ab kaise Gadar karegi?" (Translation: When Anil Ji narrated the story of the first Gadar to me, many people, well-known personalities, and big names questioned how I could do this film... now they are saying I won't be able to play a mother's role. I love challenges. So, instead of getting dejected, I took it as a challenge. Before Gadar's release, people called it 'gutter'. And now, with Gadar 2, the same question arises, 'How can the girl from Lazy Lamhe do Gadar?')

She recalled how people had even labeled the film as "gutter" before its release. Similarly, when the talk of Gadar 2 emerged, people questioned her ability to play a mother's role after her glamorous image in songs like "Lazy Lamhe." Nevertheless, Ameesha embraced these doubts as motivation to prove her versatility and talent once again.

Gadar 2 is co-produced by Anil Sharma and Zee Studios and is set to hit theaters on August 11. The film promises to be a gripping continuation of the much-loved saga, taking the audience on an emotional rollercoaster. With Ameesha reprising her beloved character Sakeena, and Sunny Deol's compelling performance as Tara, fans are eagerly anticipating this sequel that promises to be as captivating as the original Gadar.

As the film gears up for its release, Ameesha Patel's portrayal of Sakeena is sure to reignite nostalgia and create new memorable moments for the audience. With its powerful storyline and intense performances, Gadar 2 is expected to make a grand impact on the silver screen. Fans of the original film and newcomers alike are in for a treat with this highly anticipated sequel that is poised to leave a lasting impression on the hearts of cinema-goers.
