The cast also includes Sayani Gupta, Sharib Hashmi and Sheeba Chaddha. Malhotra’s upcoming film, Meenakshi Sundareshwar, co-starring Abhimanyu Dassani and produced by Karan Johar, drops on Netflix. In the prevailing situation, OTT platforms are the go-to medium for filmmakers.
Speaking of Pagglait and how Malhotra prepped for her role, she said, "I had a couple of readings with my director. We discussed and developed the character, which is one of my most favourite roles that I have played to date. Though I did do a lot of prep before the shoot, sometimes with some characters, your thought patterns change. Unknowingly, you start thinking and behaving like the character that you're playing. That's what happened with me while shooting for Pagglait."
In a recent interview with mid-day, Sanya Malhotra spoke about her last release, Ludo, and how she came on board for the film. She shared, "I'd worked with dada (Anurag Basu) before; I did an ad with him for a cola brand. He was directing it and I had a dance section in it. I don't think he was expecting anything out of me, but I was like it's Anurag Basu and I need to impress him with my dancing (laughs). So I went all out and he was quite impressed. I still remember that day and I'd always wanted to work with Anurag Basu since. So when he called me for Ludo, even before getting the script, I knew I wanted to work with him."
