Rajkummar Rao is making headlines for his upcoming film ‘Srikanth’. Known for his versatile skills, the actor will play the role of a visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla, and the excitement around the film is making people excited. The movie also stars Jyotika in the lead role along with Sharad Kelkar making an impactful cameo. Just as the movie is all set to release in theatres, here's a look at the real story behind Rajkummar's upcoming release.

Real-Life Story of Srikanth

The story of Rajkummar Rao's upcoming film ‘Srikanth’  is based on the first international blind student in Management Science at the Sloan School of Management of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Srikanth was born to a poor family in a village near Hyderabad. Srikanth was born blind, which led villagers to call him a bad omen for his family and the entire village. The villagers discouraged Srikanth's family from taking his responsibility lifelong, but the parents decided to give their best to raise Srikanth.

First, Srikanth went to a normal school, but after facing some bullies, his parents decided to send him to a special school in Hyderabad where he found his mentor (played by Jyotika). There, Srikanth mastered playing cricket and chess. He topped his class and participated in a national project under the late President of India, H.E Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

After getting amazing grades in class 10th, Srikanth was asked to take arts because he was blind, but this didn't sit well with him. He sued the court and won the case, pursuing science and securing 98%. Srikanth's fight didn't end there; after securing amazing grades, he was not given admission to any of the IITs. Then Srikant applied to some leading foreign institutes and finally did his engineering from MIT.

After his graduation, Srikanth returned to India. After coming back, Srikanth set up a company, Bollant Industries, employing illiterate and differently-abled people with the help of businessman Ravi Mantha (played by Sharad Kelkar) and funding from Ratan Tata. The industry produces eco-friendly recycled Kraft paper from municipal waste or soiled paper, packaging products from recycled paper, disposable products from natural leaf and recycled paper, and recycles waste plastic into usable products.

During his journey through all the struggles, Srikanth met the love of his life, Swathi (played by Alaya F). The couple has recently become proud parents to a baby girl.
