After announcing directorial debut, Manish Malhotra has announced his production house called Stage 5. He has three films lined up, one of which will mark Zeenat Aman's comeback

Ace fashion designer who has designed several iconic costumes of Hindi has ventured into new territories of cinema as he completes thirty years as costume designer. Earlier, this year, he announced his directorial debut as he will be making a biopic on Meena Kumari with National Award-winning actress Kriti Sanon in the lead. Now, the designer has officially announced his production house, Stage 5 Production.

On Friday, Manish Malhotra took to Instagram and penned a note announcing his production house. "Ever since my childhood there’s a certain calling I’ve had for Clothes , Colours and Films . I was fascinated by fabrics , textures and music and watched every film wide eyed longing to be a part of Indian Cinema one day.
The fascination with clothes grew me to becoming a costume designer and then to starting my Label after many years. Today after gratifying 3 decades of being in the movies I Present to you STAGE5 Production .. A company that will nurture different artistic voices from all over and take pride in the diversity of stories, collaborating with directors , writers , artist who are not only talented but also have a unique new vision".

Talking to Film Companion, he said that it has been his dream to open a production company for the past seven years. "From the last three years, I have been setting up a company called Stage 5. The name because I started with costume, then I got into business of fashion, make up-line, and then jewellery and this is the fifth thing and hence stage 5."
"There are three films lined up. It has been two-and-half years of single minded journey and I am really grateful that Jio Studios was really been supportive when I told about my plans. Tisca Chopra is directing one film, Faraz Ansari who made 'Sheer Korma' is directing a film called 'Bun Tikki' and Vibhoo Poori who directed Taj will be making a film. Actors like Vijay Varma, Radhika Apte, Divyendhu, Abhay Deol, Shabana Azmi, Zeenat Aman are working for my production," he added.
Zeenat Aman will feature in Faraz Ansari's 'Bun Tikki' which is about father and son. It has got Abhay Deol and Shabana Azmi as well," he shared revealing that the film will go on floors in November. Meanwhile Tisca Chopra's film 'A Train To Chapora' will go on floors in September and Vibhoo Puri's film will go on floors in December.
