Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, along with director Shakun Batra, dined at a Japanese restaurant in Bandra on Friday night. While exiting the venue, Dippy was spotted giving Imran Khan’s estranged wife Avantika Malik a warm hug. The place is run by her brother, Vedant Malik, and Avantika is happy to spread cheer as the mixologist, having trained in it a few years ago.

Singh and Padukone, and the Maliks go back a long way. They have known each other for years. Over a decade ago, Dippy had teamed up with Imran in Danish Aslam’s romantic comedy, Break Ke Baad (2010). Looks like old buddies were keen to catch up with each other over a meal.

On the work front, Deepika Padukone has apparently signed up with US talent agency ICM which represents some of the biggest names. The actress will be next seen opposite Ranveer Singh in Kabir Khan's 83. The film is based on the first World Cup won by India back in 1983. Later, she also has Shakun Batra's yet-untitled film, Pathan and Mahabharata where she'll essay the role of Draupadi, a saga with Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas. Apart from these, Deepika will also be sharing the screen space with Hrithik Roshan in Fighter. Helmed by Siddharth Anand.
Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, currently has Kabir Khan's 83. Ranveer Singh will portray the role of then-captain Kapil Dev in the film, while Deepika will play Romi Bhatia.
