"The more successful the villain, the more successful the picture" - it is these words by acclaimed filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock that inspired superstar Shah Rukh Khan to title his most ambitious superhero project, "RA.One" based on the villain's name.

Shah Rukh chose to name his upcoming flick "RA.One", based on the villain's role essayed by Arjun Rampal, and not as "G.One", his own character in the film.

"I have always felt this - and even Alfred Hitchcock said that in a movie, which has a larger than life hero, the villain's role should be very strong," Shah Rukh told reporters here Wednesday.

The actor, who was here to give the first look to the theatrical trailer of "RA.One", took the example of classic Hindi films "Sholay" and "Mr.India" to explain his point.

"I will discuss some cases in point - I am not comparing our film with anything, our film is very small. But take for example 'Sholay'- there were two heroes, but we remember Gabbar Singh more. Similarly, kind of a superhero film, a classic - 'Mr.India', but we remember Mogambo! So, I also felt if the villain looks good, the superhero will also look good," he added.

"Our villain is Ra.One - which technically means Random Access Version One, but mythologically, we understand it as the evil Raavan. My character G.One is a life-giver, and one can also read it as Good One! Adi (Aditya Chopra), Karan (Johar) and all my friends told me that I should have kept the film with my name - G.One ufffdbut I just felt I should call it by the villain's name," he said.

"RA.One", which also features Kareena Kapoor, will release October 26. Shah Rukh clarifies it isn't a sci-fi film, and hopes to create a popular and memorable Indian superhero for audiences with the project.
