Days after Munjya is released in theatres, director Aditya Sarpotdar trains his focus on his next release, horror comedy Kakuda. He is collaborating with Riteish Deshmukh after Mauli (2018) and Sonakshi Sinha for the film based on an Indian folklore. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the movie is written by Chirag Garg and Avinash Dwivedi.

This will be Sarpotdar’s third film in the horror comedy genre after Marathi film Zombivili (2022) and Munjya. “The storyline of the film and character details are currently under wraps,” says Sarpotdar, heightening the anticipation among fans. The film set to release on an OTT platform is yet to find a streaming partner.  “We are looking to release the film in the next two or three months. Until now, we have not decided the platform on which the film will be released,” he added.

Although he is spreading his wings in Bollywood, Sarpotdar is not giving up on Marathi films. He is simultaneously working on Faster Fene, co-produced by Deshmukh, which is a sequel to the 2017 detective crime thriller with the same name.
