Shane Watson is an Australian former cricketer who is regarded as a legendary all-rounder. He made over 300 appearances for Australia in all three formates of the game, picking up 291 wickets and scoring 14 hundreds at the international level. He also was an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals IPL teams, winning the league twice. Watson retired from all forms of cricket in 2020. Shane Watson made his debut in an ODI match vs South Africa in 2002. He made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2005 and T20I debut vs South Africa in 2006
2008 was when Watson played for Rajasthan Royals and the team won the tournament
Watson soon became a household name in the IPL. He scored his first IPL century in 2013
Watson's most reverred IPL knock came for CSK in the 2018 IPL final, where he scored 117 off just 57 balls to earn man of the match honours
Shane holds the record for the highest indvidual score for an Australian in limited over cricket. His 185 runs in 2011 vs Bangladesh is yet to be surpassed
The last international game Watson played was a T20I vs India, a country which virtually became his second home
Since his retirement, Watson spends a lot of his time with his family that consists of his wife Lee and two children
More recently, Watson has taken up roles as a commentator and expert analyst. He was also assistant coach at the Delhi Capitals in 2022
