After getting an elevated start from opener Abhishek Sharma, the Indian batters continued the momentum. Facing just 18 deliveries, Abhishek smashed 36 runs which was laced with 2 fours and 4 sixes
Later, departing on ducks in the previous two matches, Sanju Samson played an unbeaten knock of 109 runs in 56 balls. His innings saw him smash 6 fours and 9 sixes
Shouldering Samson was Tilak Varma. The youngster registered an unbeaten 120 runs in 47 balls which also included 9 fours and 10 sixes
With the help of Samson and Varma's unbeaten knocks, Team India posted a total of 283 runs which is the highest of all T20s in South Africa. With this, India became just the third international side after the Czech Republic and Japan to have two batters score hundreds in an innings
Varma and Samson's six fests registered a total of 23 maximums in the innings. With this, India registered the third-highest number of sixes in a T20I innings, and the most in a T20I between two Full Member sides
Samson-Varma duo milked an unbeaten 210 runs. This is the highest for any wicket for India in T20Is. They registered a total of 297 runs against Bangladesh, a few months ago, but now India holds the two top places for the highest totals in a T20I match between two full-member teams
