The idol, belonging to the Mahdevachi Wadi te Vageshvari Sarvajnik Ganesh Utsav Mandal, was being carried to its pandal. The Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 celebrations are scheduled to begin on September 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, in a commendable act, youngsters from the Kala Chowki Ganesh Utsav Mandal cleared the way for an ambulance stuck in the crowd during the Ganesh idol’s arrival procession at Lalbaug. 

A large crowd of youngsters had gathered in Kala Chowki to witness the arrival procession of the Ganesh idol at Lalbaug. 

Parents and their children were seen venerating the Ganesh idol as it made its way through Lalbaug during the Kala Chowki Ganesh Idol arrival procession. 

The Parel-Byculla flyover was lined with spectators watching the Kala Chowki Ganesh Idol arrival procession as it passed through Lalbaug. 

This popular vantage point allowed people to view the procession as it made its way to the pandal, ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on September 7, 2024.

Concurrently, devotees from Mazgaon Tadwadi participated in the Ganesh idol arrival procession at Lalbaug, displaying their devotion as they prepared for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. 

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a Hindu festival that tributes the deity Ganesha, the god of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune.

The festival is celebrated by installing Ganesha's idol at homes or in public places, chanting Vedic hymns and prayers, and observing Vrata or fasting.

The festival ends with the immersion of the idol in water on the tenth day, known as Ananta Chaturdashi.
