A five-year-old boy was killed and three others were injured after a slab of a shop collapsed in Kurla, on Monday. All injured, including a six-year-old boy, are undergoing treatment at civic hospitals.
The incident occurred at around 2.40 pm when the slab of the balcony of the upper floor, came crashing down on the restaurant,in a one-storey MHADA building, on Ram Manohar Lohia Road, near the Hi-Tech area.

As per the information by the disaster management department of the BMC, Afan Khan, 5, was declared brought dead by Rajawadi Hospital, Ghatkopar. The other two - Rafik Shaikh, 46 and Irfaan Khan, 33 - are undergoing treatment at the same hospital, while Mohammad Jikran, 6, is admitted to Bhabha Hospital.

A fire broke out on the 11th floor of a residential apartment at NG Royal Park area, in Kanjurmarg, on Monday. The fire department said they received the call at around 1.20 pm, after which, eight fire engines were sent to the spot. "The building was 11-storeyed and the fire was brought under control at 3.15 pm. It was completely doused at 3.30 pm. No one was injured in the incident," said a fire official. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, the official said.
