Mumbai Police have made further progress in the fake medical certificate scam investigation by arresting two more suspects. Initially, the Malvani Police had arrested two women in connection with the scam; subsequently, during the probe, the names of the two arrested persons had surfaced.
One of the recent arrestees is the husband of the accused meanwhile the other was identified as Sattyam Shivkumar Pandey (21). Pandey facilitated the arrangement with a compounder employed at Shatabdi Hospital to obtain fraudulent medical certificates.
The husband, during interrogation, disclosed that Pandey was involved in the scam. He had allegedly accepted Rs 5,000 from him and collaborated with the hospital's staff to fabricate the fake medical certificates which were then utilised to file false cases under Section 326 of the Indian Penal Code against seven persons last year.
Under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Chimaji Adhav of the Malvani police station, PSI MA Devarshi spearheaded the investigation and apprehended the duo last week.
