Participants at a previous workshop
If you are someone who takes great pride in greening your balcony or any open space in your apartment for that matter, here's a bit of news that will interest you. Earthen Routes Community Farm will organise an organic kitchen farming and waste-composting workshop as a step towards creating awareness about sustainable living. Facilitated by artist and gardening expert Manasvini Tyagi, participants can learn all about growing their own food, leading a zero-waste life and more at this Sunday workshop.
Produce from the farm
Initiated in 2012, Earthen Farms is a social project under TATA ACTREC hospital. All funds raised from the farm are used for the treatment of cancer patients. Manasvini has been a part of this project right from the beginning and has a keen interest in promoting sustainable living. She is an expert in her field, and has sustained the farm single-handedly for a decade.

The workshop will introduce beginners to everything they need to know for their organic farming journey. Participants with some basic knowledge will be able to explore various techniques in detail. The agenda includes a farm tour, basics of soil ecology, the making of a âliving soil' pot, transplanting sowing seeds, mulching and several other related activities. Anyone keen to learn more about this way of life can sign up. The organisers believe that participants will be in a position to grow their own produce by the end of the workshop.
