What are the key markers to identify PCOS?
There are three symptoms to watch out for, if two of these three are present then we conclude it to be PCOS. We do an ultrasound to look at the ovaries for cyst-like formations, the second is hormonal imbalance which may present as hair loss, acne, or skin pigmentation, and the third is irregular periods or ovulation. For women who have PCOS, how difficult it is to manage weight?
It is very individualistic, while there is no denying that women with PCOS find it more difficult to manage weight. You must remember, it is highly likely that it might take more effort. You don’t need to do everything, build a consistent program where you get enough sleep, nutrition, and exercise—even if it is low impact, go for that 30 minute walk. The most science-backed form of exercise for bettering your health is strength training. Since menopause increases risk of osteoporosis, strengthening bones via weight training is helpful, also in case of sugar, fat, and insulin metabolism. But, one must do any type of exercise they like,

How much can you exercise during your periods?
A lot of people don’t like doing anything at all which is completely okay. If you do want to exercise, I recommend light and low intensity exercises which do not excessively exhaust the body because it does need rest. Many people find certain yoga stretches alleviate the pain, if you find post-exercise endorphins helpful, go for it. Photo/iStock
Should we do any exercise that involves inversion during periods?
People think if they’re in an upside-down position blood will flow inward into the uterus, but the cervix controls the flow is which is one-directional. Unless you’ve given multiple births vaginally, the cervix won’t be open. Doing inversions will not cause a medical issue. Photo/iStock
