The special cover stamp is a tribute to the hospital’s longstanding contributions to healthcare, offering a visual celebration of its role as a trusted institution serving the people of Bandra for generations

The special cover stamp was released by Chief Postmaster General (CPMG), Maharashtra Circle, India Post, Amitabh Singh, advocate Ashish Shelar, and Dr. (Sr) Beena.

Singh emphasising about the significance of the collaboration between India Post and Holy Family Hospital said the special cover stands as a symbol of the vital role healthcare institutions like Holy Family play in the community.

Dr. (Sr) Beena, in her address, reflected on the hospital's journey and its future vision, said the special cover honours the hospital's past while also celebrating the aspirations they hold for the future of healthcare.

While the private nursing home called 'Silverene' was opened by Dr Austin Da Silva, with the growing healthcare needs of Mumbai, it was was handed over to the Medical Mission Sisters in 1953.

Over the years, the congregation expanded the nursing home to accommodate 22 beds and rechristened it as the ‘Holy Family Hospital'. In the last 82 years, they have expanded to create a Medical Research Centre, The Holy Family Heart Institute in 2002, and Holy Family Institute of Nursing Education in 2005.
