North Star for Mysore Race Club Trophy

Only three horses will face the starter in the Mysore Race Club Trophy, the feature event of Saturday's eight-race card, reserved for class I horses. 

 

Two of them--Caprisca & Truly Epic--are trained by Imtiaz Sait. The third, North Star, will be saddled by trainer Pesi Shroff. The only problem with the Pesi Shroff ward is that he has yet to win a race despite half a dozen outings. To expect a horse to win his career's first race in class I may be viewed as an uphill task. But North Star has some points going in his favour which make me feel he can get the better of the Sait pair.

 

The fact that North Star is the youngest of the lot, has raced in the company of some really good horses of his age last season, and is receiving weight from two older horses which have put their best runs way behind, can help him catch the judge's eye first.
