Walmiki is unfit: Chief selector Govinda

Hockey India chief selector BP Govinda said yesterday that striker Yuvraj Walmiki was ignored for the national team on fitness grounds.

“Yuvraj is not 100 per cent fit. Even when he is at camps, he plays for just two to three days and then takes a break. Being a senior player, one has to set an example to youngsters, but he has failed to do so.

Look at captain Sardar Singh… he plays unflinchingly for the entire 70mins of every match and gives 100 per cent at practice too,” said Govinda.u00a0
