Playing in front of a fairly good number of vociferous home supporters, Mumbai Devils did not disappoint as they registered a hard-fought 41-33 victory against Nagar Challengers, Ahmednagar in a closely contested men's league encounter of the The Maha Kabaddi League, a joint initiative by Max Godwit and the Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association, at the Bhartiya Krida Mandir, Wadala yesterday.

This was the first win for the Mumbai team who had lost the opening match to Thane Tigers by a 45-59 margin. Both Mumbai and Nagar put up a strong fight and the scores went level pegging initially and the scores at the end of the first half was tied at 18-all.

Steely Ankita on song
Ankita Jagtap showed nerves of steel and kept her cool to make a crucial Golden Raid, which earned Nagar Challengers, Ahmednagar, two points and secure a close 42-40 win in an exciting women's encounter over Thane. The match ended on level terms at 40-all, which forced the Golden Raid.
