Central Railway had to rely on late goals from midfielders Krishna Naidu and TS Sumesh to dispose off Union Bank of India in the 105th Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Nadkarni Cup at the RCF Sports Complex in Chembur on Saturday.
In a match marred by poor pitch conditions due to two days of thundershowers, Naidu broke the deadlock with 15 minutes to go by a slick shot from the 18-yard line after which Sumesh scored in the dying minutes. Due to poor ground conditions and a report from the match commissioner on the same, the quarter-finals have pushed back by three days.
