Sachin Tendulkar hospitalised; shares update on Twitter

Earlier, on March 27, Sachin Tendulkar had shared the news that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The 47-year-old batsman shared the information with a post on Twitter.

Former India cricketer and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has been hospitalised as per advice by doctors after he was tested positive for coronavirus. Sachin Tendulkar broke the news on Friday, April 2, 2021, on micro-blogging site Twitter.


Tendulkar wrote, "Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone."


The master blaster also went on to congratulate his 2011 World Cup teammates on the 10th anniversary of their 2011 World Cup title triumph, "Wishing all Indians & my teammates on the 10th anniversary of our World Cup win," he added.


Earlier, on March 27, Sachin Tendulkar had shared the news that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The 47-year-old batsman shared the information with a post on Twitter.

Sachin Tendulkar wrote, " I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure COVID is kept at bay. However, I've tested positive today following mild symptoms. All others at home have tested negative." Tendulkar also said he is following advice by doctors and has been quarantined. He wrote, "I've quarantined myself at home and am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors."

Tendulkar also thanked all the healthcare professionals for their help and support. He added, "I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country. Take care all of you." Here's the post on Twitter.

Sachin Tendulkar, who is known to be one of the finest batsmen in cricket history, scored 15,921, the most runs in Test cricket history. Tendulkar's 18,426 runs in ODIs still remains the most scored by any cricketer in the format. Tendulkar is also the one and only player to have hit 100 centuries in international cricket.
