Defending champions England aim to revive their ICC World Cup 2023 campaign against a struggling Sri Lankan side. Jos Buttler has not been very successful in taking England into the semi finals and will desperately look to secure a win in today's clash. England will expect some valuable contributions from their star all rounder Ben Stokes.

England will rely on spinner Adil Rashid to strike wickets as he struck the important wickets of Rassie van der Dussen and Reeza Hendricks in England's last clash against South Africa. Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan opened the innings for England.

Dawid Malan scored 28 runs in 25 deliveries before getting into the hands of Sri Lankan skipper Kusal Mendis in Angelo Mathews's over. Maheesh Theekshana on the other hand is taking the responsibility of not leaking runs.

Veteran batsman Joe Root came to bat at No. 3 for England but was ran out by Angelo Mathews in Maheesh Thikshana's over. Mathews is trying to make most of his opportunity. Stokes heads in the middle, Bairstow continues his efforts to stabilize England's inning.

Sri Lanka striking early wickets is putting England in trouble.
