KL Rahul’s lack of footwork against quality pace attack was monitored by the eagle-eyed Indian coaching staff during the team’s net session on Monday while an exhausted Hardik Pandya was given a recovery break ahead of the T20 World Cup match against the Netherlands.

Rahul has failed against Pakistan in three of the last four games. Bowlers have decoded that an imaginary fourth off-stump line at a good pace can test him. That’s possibly why Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Harshal Patel were told to bowl outside the off-stump. Rahul wasn’t comfortable on one occasion, having to close the face of his bat. Had it been a match situation, the point fielder would’ve been interested. When Yuzvendra Chahal bowled, Rahul rocked back and pulled against the spin.
