London: Kevin Pietersen took to Twitter to say that Test vice-captain Prior should focus on his own form since he was under pressure to retain his place in the Test side from ODI keeper Jos Butler after a disastrous Ashes.

"Fewer Q&A's, more Sussex nets methinks, @MattPrior! #josbuttler," Pietersen tweeted.

It started off a battle between the two cricketers and Prior also hit back saying "showing your class again Kevin... idiot" and "that will be why KP isn't in the England set-up anymore".

Pietersen tweeted saying "neither is The Big Cheese Prior!" referring to Prior's nickname that he had during his early brash days in the England dressing room.

Prior, during an interview in Dubai when asked whether the dressing room would be a better place without Pietersen, reportedly said "yes, it will."

"One of the biggest things the ECB want to rediscover is the value of playing cricket for England. The honour and the pride you need to show as an England cricketer. And they only want people in that dressing room that are going to be passionate about England winning and performing," Prior was quoted as saying by the Guardian.

Pietersen was dumped by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after a disastrous Ashes that England lost 0-5 in Australia.
