Australian off-break bowler Nathan Lyon's estranged partner Mel Waring opened up on the couple's devastating split in December last year, yesterday. In her new blog, Life of Lyons, Waring wondered whether gaining weight led to the breakdown of their relationship.

Waring listed a number of reasons that could have caused Lyon to start dating Perth real estate agent, Emma McCarthy. In a candid post, Waring, a mother of two girls, wrote: "In December of 2017, my world came falling down around me. Life as I knew it was over and my soulmate was gone, leaving me and our girls to pick up the broken pieces and try to find a way to move forward alone. Every day I go through the same questions in my mind. Why was I not enough?

"What did I ever do to him? Was it that I did too much or not enough? Is it because I put on weight? Because sometimes I really couldn't be bothered shaving my legs or doing my hair?"
