Months into Israel’s Gaza offensive, Hamas’ armed wing Al-Qassam Brigades launched a barrage of missiles at Tel Aviv on May 26. Israel launched the operation after Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7 killing around 1,200 people. The latest attack from Hamas comes days after Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh made his first trip to Iran for the funeral of late President Ebrahim Raisi.
